I spent something like 36 hours in San Francisco in June, ultimately for a conference our CEO was in, but managed to get some good sightseeing in. Golden Gate bridge, QT with my cousing Lina, and seals. Also saw Gerry, but for some reason didn't take photos. Hrm.

The 2008 midwifery class of Columbia University got to celebrate their graduation in May, even though the program ends in August. Got to go to the main University graduation and their own special one at the Armory (that was for the School of Nursing, which not all midwives are fans of). Lot's of powerful back signage involved.

Liana was in town, and we went down to see Gotham Girls Roller Derby at Hunter College. The match was between the Queens of Pain and Manhattan Mayhem. With 8 refs and a full house, the event was way more professional than I was expecting, and awesome.

Hopped down to Florida spur of the moment with the 'rents to visit Vytas, Jurate, and Ruta. Spent some QT on some of the best beaches out in St. Petersburg and probably the US.

The Johnsons came down from Barker for a visit to the big city. Hung out in the new apartment, rode the subway, went to Coney Island, and had fondue (not at Coney Island).

On New York Cares day, Ruder Finn sent a team to help clean up McCarron Park in Brooklyn. I dragged my new father-in-law Steve along. We started out planting seeds, but ran out quickly. So then we went for drinks. And then we did some spreading of steamy mulch.
